I recently watched a Nigerian movie called "Prophet Suddenly." It was a story that addressed the rise of false prophets amidst the church. The main character was an ex-minister who had lost his church due to financial difficulties. He desperately wanted back into ministry but for the sake of fame and fortune. He had seen other ministers acquire wealth by starting successful businesses aka churches. He too, wanted to become of the big boys and was working very hard at attaining this dream.

Due to his long work hours, he and his wife were no longer intimate, and it bothered him. One day he decided to confide in his best friend. The said friend advised him to take on a prostitute. He assured him it would be a win-win situation. It would be discreet, and no one would know about it. Unfortunately for the man, he ended up gaining more than a plesurable time. By sleeping with this woman, he entered into a spiritual covenant with her. She was able to help him prophesy about people's lives but in return, he had to maintain this covenant through sexual intimacy with her.

This went on for a while, he was able to amass great wealth but unfortunately, lost his soul completely. Why did I share this with you dear reader? It is a dangerous world we are living in today. There are many spiritual practices at play in every corner of this world. Social media platforms have allowed many dangerous spiritual leaders to influence people into occult practices. They teach a false gospel and have lured many into evil covenants and away from Christ.

The increased practices of witchcraft are alarming. Saging is not godly. Zodiac signs cannot tell you who you are. Palm reading, tarot cards, seers and healers are all occult practices that are a great evil in the sight of the Lord and a great danger to your soul. Two years ago, I went to New Orleans with my friends, and we found the city to be immersed in heavy occult practices. While walking the streets, we met a man that claimed he had spiritual powers, and he would read our palms and tell us our future. My friend wanted to participate, and I said I would join her for moral support. For twenty bucks he read our palms and told us our future. At the time, I thought it a simple and harmless practice. After all, I was a believer, and nothing could touch me if I was under the blood of Jesus.....right?

I thought no consequences would come from this act and went on with my life as normal. At the time, I was not familiar with spiritual warfare. In my dreams I found myself in constant sexual activity with folk I knew nothing about. I thought, it was normal to have sex dreams. What I did not know was every time one consults the spiritual world through evil means you allow for the devil and his demons to have legal rights to harass you. The fear of something lurking in the dark was imminent in my life and I kept on this cycle for years until I found teachings about spiritual warfare. By the grace of God, I was able to break the evil covenants I had made through these dreams and by the reading of my palm. God has delivered me, and I am here to warn you not to indulge in such activities.

Hear me dear reader, the enemy will always trick you into thinking it is harmless. Saging does not bring peace. Crystal stones do not align you. Yoga is a form of spiritual worship; it is not exercise. Psychics may tell you your future but the price you will pay is lofty. Witches are not your friends. The Ouija board is not a playful game. Connecting with the dead is not harmless. Once one dies, they cannot speak to you in your dreams, visions or spirit. That is not your relative it is a demon manifesting as a familiar spirit. My admonition to you is to put it all away. The devil is not your friend. He is not out to love and accept you he will shame you for your relationship with him. He feeds you idols and shames you for eating them.

There are teachers, pastors, evangelists, prophets and even bishops who do not preach the gospel of Jesus. Leave their ministry. Test every teaching by reading the bible for yourself. In Kenya there has been a recent discovery of a cult. The leader of this cult convinced his members that the end of the world is coming soon, and they needed to starve themselves to death so they could be with their God sooner than the rest. It is a heartbreaking story. So many lives have been lost because of these false teachers. Jesus does not want you to commit suicide so you can be with him in heaven. Your life is precious to Him, and he wants you to experience it to its fullest. Some of these leaders do not live the words they preach. Leave their ministry. Some will ask you to sleep with them for the assurance of your salvation. It is a lie, leave their ministry.

When Jesus died on the cross at calvary, he paid the ultimate price for you. He became sin for you. He took your burdens to the grave with him. He then resurrected and became righteousness for you. You do not have to practice witchcraft. You do not have to burn sage to feel peace. Jesus is peace for you. You do not have to sleep with no pastor for holiness. Jesus has given you His own holiness. You do not have to commit suicide to go to heaven, Jesus has died so that you can have life and have it more abundantly. He has given you the Holy Spirit that will guide you into all truth all you have to do is ask.

This post is meant to be a warning to you dear reader. Be wary of these liars that mask themselves as your friends. They are sent to destroy your life. Be watchful. Read your bible so you may be knowledgeable. Pray at all times and may the grace of our Lord keep you always.

Finally, remember this:

"Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. 4 But—

When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, 5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.[a] 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

8 This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone." - Titus 3:4-8
